Sunset Organ Vespers 2024

Livestream

Enjoy a memorable evening of inspiring readings and music from Bryn Athyn Cathedral’s magnificent organs.

Dates & Details

Wednesday, May 15, 7:30 pm - Rev. Kenneth Alden & Leah Martin, Principal Organist with Bryn Athyn Cathedral Choir and Choristers
Join us at the Cathedral for an evening of organ and choir music, interspersed with scriptural and doctrinal passages read by Rev. Kenneth Alden. The program is inspired by the traditional English Evensong, with the Cathedral Choir presenting English works such as “Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis” by Herbert Merrill as well as psalm chants. Leah Martin will also offer a selection of organ pieces by English composers, including the inspirational “Adagio in E Major” by Frank Bridge. The Cathedral Choir will be joined by the Seraphim Choristers for two exciting pieces: Edward Bairstow’s magnificent “Blessed City, Heavenly Salem” and Daniel Justin’s joyful “Gloria!,” both featuring vibrant organ accompaniments.
