April 2024 Bryn Athyn Thrift Shop Building Update

On April 24, Bryn Athyn Church held its Annual Society Meeting. There were lots of items to report on at the meeting.
Jim Adams reported on the progress of the Bryn Athyn Thrift Shop. Things are surely coming along on both construction sites!
BATS has a few more projects to be completed before the final punch list and preparation for opening this fall.

History

The Bryn Athyn Thrift Shop (BATS), was established in 1993 to benefit the many uses of the Bryn Athyn Church and Elementary School. In May 2023, the 125-year-old barn located at 510 Tomlinson Road, right next to the Bryn Athyn Church School was taken down to make way for a new elementary school and church offices.

BATS will be moving to a new location, slated to open in late 2024, and will be located at 3370 Buck Road, Bryn Athyn.  The new thrift shop will be temperature- controlled, have an easily accessible retail space, and have one convenient drop-off location. The interior will be reminiscent of our former shop, including reclaimed wood and décor from the old barn. Its exterior will blend in with the surrounding farmland.
