Purpose
Motherhood is a wonderful and intense time of life, especially when your children are young. Finding a community of women who are also in this life chapter provides for encouragement, information, inspiration and comradery. Bryn Athyn Church wants to support families by supporting mothers with organized gatherings for spiritual, emotional, mental, social and physical nourishment.

Who's leading this group?
I'm Nina Dewees, the Bryn Athyn Church Support and Engagement Coordinator. I am a former health teacher and a mother of 4 young adults. I organize these programs, and often act as the facilitator. Email Nina at nina.dewees@brynathynchurch.org.
Who is this for?
The main target audience is mothers of young and school age children, although older moms are welcome too, to make connection with someone beyond one’s current stage of motherhood. It’s nice to know that potty training or homework woes won’t last forever! Connections with other mothers with a variety of experience can be really valuable.
If you have an idea for a supportive kind of gathering, contact Nina at nina.dewees@brynathynchurch.org
Format/Topics
Currently we are offering two kinds of groups, but this varies through the years.
1. Moms Enrichment Evenings
These are evenings for hard-working moms to get “a night out” (nursing babies welcome) with other moms, thoughtful conversation, and yummy treats. We always take time at the beginning for a check-in from everyone, so it is a chance to meet new friends. Then there is a special theme each evening, usually with both a spiritual and practical dimension. Examples of topics are creativity, listening, life stages, grief, etc. People are welcome to stay after the formal program for more conversation.
We offer a couple evenings per season, in private homes, on a given weeknight from 7:00-9:00pm. Click here to see upcoming dates.
2. Moms and Tots Mornings
These are gatherings for you along with your young ones, weekday mornings, usually in the 9:30 – 11:30am zone. We provide hot beverages; you need to bring snacks for your kids if they would want them (since you know their food preferences/sensitivities.) We meet in private homes or a church/school location.
These gatherings are less formal than the evening ones (though both are very comfortable!) We will always have a check in, perhaps a discussion theme or a chance to bring up whatever questions/concerns about the chapter of motherhood you are dealing with, and just visiting and dealing with kid interruptions. We establish a safe space for talking about what you really need to talk about, as well as laugh and visit.
Let Nina know what topics would be most useful to you.
