Online Reading Programs

Online reading programs for individuals

The Lord’s Word helps us most when we read it every day. When we read it daily, we will find that we more easily understand what it says. Reading the Word is more a matter of the heart than the head. By showing up at the pages every day we open our heart to the Lord.

These classes are for those who want to explore God's Word and explore what it means to live according to its teachings.

The Bryn Athyn pastoral staff would like to help you in turning to the Lord every day. Here are opportunities for you to get involved:

Daily Inspirations - daily passages from Swedenborg's Writings

Short readings from General Church Outreach Office emailed to you. Sign up here.

Readings from Arcana Coelestia

Slightly longer daily readings (½ to 1 page) from Arcana Coelestia, with corresponding readings in Scripture. These will be emailed to you. Sign up here:

Christmas Readings

You can sign up to get the Christmas readings daily by email. You can pick them up at the Pastors’ Office or at the Cathedral when they become available a few weeks before Christmas.

Easter Readings

During the Easter season we celebrate the Lord's gift of renewed life. Receive daily readings from scripture starting March 23.

Each email in this program features a Bible passage from the Easter story, followed by related readings from New Church theology. Closing every email is a short reflection for you to meditate on during the day.

Learn more and register at newchurch.org/easter. For those who live in Bryn Athyn and would like a printed copy of the readings, you can find them at the Church Offices, the Bryn Athyn Cathedral, and Cairnwood Village.

For two thousand years the Easter story has shown us Jesus’ great love for all people. Throughout the Lord’s ministry, He emphasized His purpose of bringing all people who are willing to follow Him into heaven with Himself. His boundless, compassionate love is especially clear in the Gospel of John, from which we take our Easter Readings this year.

The Lord said, “If I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself.” (John 12:32) Now that Jesus Christ has risen, we can truly understand His love for humanity, and we can see Him as God, or “Divine love in human form.” (Secrets of Heaven 4735)

We pray that this year’s theme, “The Lord’s Love for All People” will give you a clearer sense of the Lord’s presence in your life.

Sign up to receive daily passages from the Easter story to your email starting March 23rd.
