Our Christmas worship services and events. Based on the input we received, here are the changes we’re making this year:
Children’s Tableaux: It’s Back! Sunday, December 6 - 3:30 pm
The Children’s Tableaux is coming back this year. This service has school-aged children acting out scenes from the Christmas story on the stage in the
Asplundh Assembly Hall. Rachel Martin and Rev. Steven Gunther are heading it up. They will need plenty of adult and child volunteers. Email rachel.martin@brynathynchurch.org to get involved.
Tableaux Services: Sticking With New Times - Sunday, December 13- 2:30, 4:15, 6:00, and 7:45 pm
Last year we moved all of the tableaux service times earlier and we’re sticking with those changes.
Community Sing: New Time and Day - Saturday, December 19 - 3:30 pm
Last year, the Community Sing was on Friday in the evening. This year, to make it more family-friendly and less likely to conflict with other events, we are having this hour-long event on a Saturday afternoon.
Christmas Eve Services: Earlier Times - Thursday, December 24 - 3:00, 4:30, 6:00 pm
Last year, Christmas Eve services were at 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 pm. We found that the majority of people wanted to come to the 4:00 service and so finding parking and seats for that service was difficult. We are hoping that moving all of the services an hour earlier will help to even out the attendance across the services and provide more options for people who would like to go to church before dinner.
Midnight Christmas Eve Service: It’s Back! - Thursday, December 24
Thanks to Rev. Coleman Glenn and Graham Bier, the Midnight Christmas Eve service is coming back, for the first time since 2020. It will be in Asplundh Assembly Hall and will offer an
informal and peaceful opportunity to gather, sing, and welcome Christmas Day.
Christmas Day Service: A Little Earlier - Friday, December 25 - 11:00 am
The Christmas Day service has been at 11:30 for decades. We don’t know if that tradition was established due to staff, volunteer, or attendee preferences. We expect that it does not match current preferences and so we are moving it to 11:00, like every other Adult Service in the year.
But wait, there’s more! These are just a few of our Christmas worship service and events. For a full list, go to brynathynchurch.org/2026 . Please continue to let us know your experience of and input on the worship services and events at Christmas time and throughout the year. What a privilege it is to get to worship the Lord God Jesus Christ together!
