Membership & Baptism

If you want to be part of the life and worship of our community, all you need to do is show up! But you're also welcome to explore formal membership, if that's something you're interested in.

Join a community of people with shared values. Our church community is enriched and sustained by the mutual loves we hold. Membership is having the ability to more fully serve and be served by your church. Because we believe that a spiritual commitment to the life of the church is more important than organizational membership, we treat baptism as a prerequisite for membership.

Membership

Any individual who is 20 years of age and older who has been baptized into the New Church and is also a member of the General Church of the New Jerusalem can apply to be a member of Bryn Athyn Church. For questions regarding membership, please contact the Church Office at 215-947-6225.

Baptism

This sacrament of Baptism is a symbolic introduction into the church and into the truths it teaches—truths that will form the basis for future spiritual life and growth. People may be baptized as children or in adulthood. Baptism is a gateway to full adult membership in the church. To schedule a baptism, contact the Church Office at 215-947-6225 x 200.
