The Informal Service welcomes family members of all ages to worship together in a casual setting. A variety of musical groups, usually supported by guitar and keyboard, present music as people gather for worship. Participants will sing familiar folk songs, say the Lord’s Prayer and hear a reading and message related to a story from the Old or New Testament given by a minister. The story may be dramatized or people may be invited to participate in an interactive process that will help apply the story to their life. The service lasts about 40 minutes and people are invited to stay and visit afterwards with light snacks provided.

There are many different volunteer opportunities to serve including singing or playing an instrument with the music team, acting in the reenactment of the Biblical story, costuming, setting up the altar, greeting, ushering, giving a lay testimonial, doing a lay reading, helping with Holy Supper, helping with snacks, helping with the audio, candle supervision, and more. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Nina Dewees at 215-947-6225 x206 or

You are also invited to come to the weekly planning meetings, which are held every Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Pastors Office. In these meetings, you would have a chance to help the minister prepare for the Sunday service by discussing the Biblical story and the doctrine, and then brainstorming examples, stories, applications, and relevant music choices, as well as discussing ways to reach all age groups, and planning for the activity or process.
