Handel’s Messiah

On Saturday, December 20, 2014, the Christmas portion of Handel’s beloved oratorio Messiah will be offered as a musical service in the Bryn Athyn Cathedral.  Come hear this beautiful rendition of the prophecy and events surrounding the birth of our Lord into the world, along with a few selections from the later parts including Hallelujah and Amen. 

Doors open just before the preludes begin at 7:10pm, with the final prelude as the overture and the service beginning at 7:30pm.  This is a church service, so no tickets or reservations are necessary. 

The service will be led by Rev. Eric Carswell.  Music will be provided by: 

The Bryn Athyn Festival Chorus (including the Bryn Athyn Cathedral Choir) conducted by Director of Music Graham Bier alongside an orchestra of some of the area’s finest musicians including two members of the Jasper Quartet.
