Christmas Festival Services

Cathedral Tableaux (Rev. Erik Buss)
December 11, 2016 – 3:30, 5:00, 7:00, 8:15 pm

The Christmas story will be presented in living pictures. On your way in be sure to notice the shepherds and various animals (meet “Percy,” the camel, the sheep and donkey) around the campfire near the porte-cochère. Children may pet the animals, but please try not to frighten them.

Parking for all Cathedral Tableaux Services: We would like to reserve all parking spaces in the lower parking lot for our guests 65 and older for all Tableaux services. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Offering for the Pastors: The basket offerings from the Christmas Tableaux on December 13 will again be a gift to the Bryn Athyn Church pastors. This is an opportunity for all to participate in appreciation for those who serve the Society so well.

Children’s Marionette Service at Bryn Athyn Cathedral (Rev. John Odhner)

Come and see a tender portrayal of the Christmas story with the Cathedral Marionettes. Christmas hymns accompanied by guitar.

Children’s Tableaux at Heilman Hall (Rev. Solomon Keal)
December 17, 2016 – 3:30 and 4:30 pm
Portrayed by children of elementary school age, these four Advent scenes are part of a worship service for all ages. Because this is a worship service, please leave cameras at home.

Keeping the Lord safe. The Lord came on earth to save us — to be our Savior. Yet much of the Christmas story involves things that people do to keep the Lord safe so He could grow and prosper. Before the Lord can save us, we need to keep Him safe in our hearts. We’ll explore ways we can do that.

Join us as we follow the shepherds to Bethlehem where “they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger” (Luke 2: 16).
NOTE: The second service is usually less crowded.

“This is our God; we have waited for Him.” Greet Christmas with a simple message about the promise of light in the darkest night.

“Seeing the Salvation of the Lord’s Coming.” When Simeon held the infant Jesus, he said he could now die in peace.  He had seen the salvation so long prophesied. We too can raise our hearts in gratitude to the Lord and echo Simeon’s words.
