Allen Organ Track Fund

The Allen organ needs a track and turntable. That remarkable electronic instrument on the back balcony is frequently moved. It is somewhat fragile and very heavy and yet what music it makes! When I hear the haunting melody called “Gabriel’s Oboe” or a passage from Dvorak’s New World Symphony coming from the nave, I’m certain there’s a talented oboist practicing in the church until I walk around the corner and see Kenneth or Terry, our talented organists, playing the Allen.

The work will be supervised by Drew Nehlig, our historic buildings project manager, and undertaken by Gurney Kerr Contractors. We can’t buy the track and turntable in a box at Home Depot; they need to be custom made for this application.

We need to raise $6000 more before we can start work. Contributions can be dropped off at the Pastors Office or the Cathedral. Please make your checks payable to Bryn Athyn Church and note organ track on the check. Thank you for considering this use.  Terry, Kenneth, Graham or I welcome your questions about the need for this new equipment.
